The interest that exists and the thirst for knowledge about clean eating are amazing and encouraging.
So many people today realize they need to make changes in what and how they eat, but they don't know where to start or where to turn for good information on how to change their eating habits to change their health.
You can transform your life both emotionally and physically by what foods you eat and how much you eat. It's very exciting, and the good news is, it's not hard to begin down the healthy eating road!
The first thing you need to know is that you don't have to suffer when you change your eating habits. You won't be gnawing on bark and drinking dreadful tasting stuff. The food you will enjoy is delicious; it will taste like real food; and you can have treats! You won't be on a diet, and you won't be starving.
How should you begin? For most people, this is a learning experience and is a gradual transition as it really is a gradual learning or re-learning process. Start incorporating changes slowly and learn how to eat at home, on a trip and at a restaurant. Learn what to look for, and what to definitely avoid. Notice how you feel if you cheat a lot. It's entirely possible that the thing that keeps you on track is how much better you will begin to feel. Some people, along with losing weight, even lose their depression by changing how they eat. Not being depressed because you are eating differently can be a huge factor in staying on track. Staying on track can help you lose weight which will make you feel even better about yourself. You may feel so much better that you are afraid not to eat this way. It's a win-win as they say.
If you're a sugar lover, your toughest challenge will no doubt be not eating sugar and simple carbohydrates. They are addictive, and are designed to keep you craving more of them. When you get a sugar craving, try a slice or two of fresh orange or a piece of dark (70% cocoa or more) to satisfy the craving and to keep you from reaching for that box of cookies. In fact, clean out your pantry. The cookies, pastries and candy should be the first things to go!
